Europe 2022

My research in Europe has taken a drastic turn as the conflict in Ukraine sends shockwaves across the continent. Despite a gloom blanketing much of Europe, in most countries, everyday life apprehensively continues. All eyes are to the east and wondering what tomorrow could bring.

As I venture into Eastern Europe, I continue my work while making the best of my time here. I setup shop for a while in the Balkans (living in Croatia and briefly in Kosovo), relocate to Moldova, and eventually make my way into Ukraine before heading back to Germany.

The experience is incredible and offers great perspective to apply towards my work and future research. With little time to write while in the field, I will continue to look back, study my field notes, and reflect, posting as my schedule will allow.
